HOW TO DO FAUX FRECKLES WITH MAKE-UP
1. PREPARE YOUR SKIN
Before you begin your little adventure with your freckles, you first might want to make sure that your face make-up is properly applied and finished. Whether you aim to wear foundation or not, your perfectly freckled face will shine through if you focus on your skin primarily.
2. CHOOSE THE RIGHT PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR PREFERENCE
If you’re looking for tiny freckles, we recommend to use a felt-tip marker has a tip that is very fine, so you will not find a hard time to create precise dots. This method is considered to offer one of the most longest-lasting and natural-looking faux freckles among the other types. Then, simply apply it lightly as a cluster of dots. This way you will be allowing the compound to “sit comfortably” on your skin, and then develop. Add as much as you feel like. If you’re feeling naughty and want to play harder, more visible and outstanding freckles can be achieved with pencils that have waxier formulas. They allow it to smudges into your skin more easily. Medium-sized tip is perfect for creating fake freckles of this kind.
3. TEST, THEN SUGGEST
For the most natural-looking freckles, all you will need to use is either an eyebrow pencil or even better, a product that is created especially for fake freckles. The eyebrow pencil you usually wear to make them look fuller might turn out a little too dark, especially if you have a skin colour that’s pale. In order to be sure and play it safe, we would suggest to start things out with an eyebrow pencil shade that is only slightly deeper than your actual skin tone and undertone, then you can see how it looks.
4. DOT THE SPOT
Natural face freckles are not supposed to be symmetrical, nor perfectly distant from each other, or even with the same radius or shape, so try to not control the placement of them extremely carefully. Dab those freckle dots onto your facial parts that the sun naturally hits, which include your cheekbones, nose, and forehead. Dot, dot, dot!
5. BLEND AND SOFTEN THOSE LITTLE ROUGH EGDES
Now it’s time to tap, tap, tap at those cute little dots with your fingertip. This is how you can blur them into your skin. Then, apply the brow pencil again on the parts where you want to make the pigment exposed by the sun bolder. Blending through makeup brushes is also a good alternative. We would most suggest eyeshadow brushes, but you can use eyeliner or lip brushes as well.
6. DON’T FORGET TO TAKE CARE!
Even with those changes, you need to assure that your skincare routine is still spot-on. Pun intended. This is how you’ll give those faux freckles a healthy base where they can cling to. Those little babies rest better when your face is well-moisturized and clean. A sunburn cream with a high rate of SPF would be the cherry on top. Protection doesn’t harm anyone.
